| | Model | Toyota Corolla CE (Manual) | | | What things have gone wrong with the car? | Toyota, for what ever reason, is starting to use more American parts in their cars. As any honest person would tell you, American stuff as a rule, is low quality. The American companies just want to make a buck. I have owned a few Corollas, and one thing that has always impressed me was the quality of the plastics used. In my 2000 Corolla some American plastics are being used for some interior components (such as the small buttons anchoring the speaker mount board behind the rear seat). These buttons are already fading and flaking off from sun exposure. All the genuine Toyota plastics, of course, are still in perfect condition. | | | | |
| | | General comments? | This is a great car. It's fast, dependable, handles well, and is reasonably priced. Buy the CE with manual transmission: it's cheaper and a whole lot more fun. | | | Previous car | 1985 Toyota Corolla SR5, 1993 Toyota Corolla LE |
